New Delhi
An educated young Muslim lady of Dwarka applied for the post of a teacher in Janakpuri’s Shri Ram Global Pre-School. She was kept on trial and her photograph while teaching kids was uploaded on the school’s website, but she was later told not to come because some parents had objected to a Muslim being a teacher in the school. On the said lady’s complaint, Delhi Minorities Commission issued a notice to the said school. Instead of offering a straightforward reply to the queries raised by the Commission, the school indulged in wild allegations against the complainant’s intentions and even accused unnamed competitors of the school. DMC has reprimanded the school administration saying that “This is not the reply of a civilised individual and institution and should not have been sent to a statutory body.” The Commission has asked the school administration to send (1) CVs of all the selected candidates as well as that of the complainant; (2) Copies of the interview details and results thereof of all the above including the complainant; (3) Reports of the supervisor(s) of the trial period about the selected candidates and the complainant.
