CBI approaches Interpol for Red Corner against Nirav Modi

agencies / New Delhi

CBI has approached Interpol seeking Red Corner Notice against absconding jewellers Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi in the Punjab National Bank fraud case.

Official sources said the agency has written to the Interpol in this regard. The red corner notice is the closest instrument to an international arrest warrant.

Recently, the CBI had filed charge sheets against Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and others in the Punjab National Bank fraud case.

In January, Nirav Modi had flown out of the country before the bank lodged a complaint with CBI and ED seeking action against him and others in connection with over 13 thousand crore rupees bank fraud.
