A AKHTER
Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has declared that Chartered Accountants play an indispensable role in strengthening India’s economy by upholding transparency, integrity, and ethical governance.
Speaking at the 78th Chartered Accountants’ Day in New Delhi, he praised the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for its high professional benchmarks and explicitly urged the institute never to dilute its rigorous examination and training standards, emphasizing that the nation’s financial safety depends entirely on these uncompromised quality controls.
Highlighting the critical contributions of CAs to transformative economic reforms—including GST, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, Direct Benefit Transfer, and the updated Income Tax framework—the Vice President stressed that the profession acts as the fundamental anchor of trust in the nation’s financial architecture. Beyond regulatory oversight, he called on CAs to drive grassroots economic growth by supporting local entrepreneurs and guiding producers under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative to reduce costs, optimize quality, and boost global competitiveness. To mark the milestone anniversary, the Vice President also launched two new digital initiatives: the Peer Review Board Web Portal and the ICAI Jan Utsav Portal, developed in collaboration with MyGov.
