U.S military says, it will not pay Pakistan 300 million dollars in military reimbursements. Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said, the funds will not be released to the Pakistan because the Secretary has not certified that Pakistan has taken sufficient action against the Haqqani network, a guerrilla insurgent group.
The 300 million dollars comes under the Coalition Support Fund,CSF, a U.S.
Defense Department program to reimburse allies that have incurred costs in supporting counter terrorist and counter insurgency operations. Pakistan is the largest recipient of CSF.
A News Agency reports that relations between the two countries have been deteriorated over the past decade, due to Islamabad’s unwillingness to act against terrorist groups.
There has been growing resistance in the U.S. Congress to sending money to Pakistan.
