Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today charged the previous UPA government with hatching conspiracy to falsely implicate the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in connection with Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
Speaking to a private TV channel in New Delhi today, Mr Jaitley said, UPA government fabricated evidence at all levels to malign the image of BJP leaders. He also accused then Congress government at the Centre of compromising with national security despite having accurate intelligence inputs about attack by terrorists on BJP leaders. He said, the then government tried to destroy intelligence framework by pitting CBI against Intelligence Bureau.
