Amid the controversy over alleged anti national sentiment in JNU, Union Minister for Communication and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad today said:  ‘JNU is a very premier institution of India and It is widely respected also’. Speaking to media in New Delhi today, Mr Prasad said JNU has produced outstanding civil servants, great academicians and well known public figures.

“There is a eloquent, powerful, constructive and alternative voice in JNU and the country is equally eager to hear that voice”, he stressed.

He said, JNU has produced outstanding civil servants, great academicians and well known public figures. He said, the matter of arrest of JNUSU president is under investigation and he can not comment on it.
