in the forthcoming foreign secretary level talks beginning Thursday in Islamabad.

Briefing the media here Krishna said that the menace of terrorism has to be dealt with firmly and in a very transparent manner for the common good of India, Pakistan and the entire region.

He said that the trial of those involved in 26/11 Mumbai attacks must be expedited in Pakistan to bring to the book the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

Mr Krishna said that it is sad commentary that the trial has not yet started and Islamabad must take note of sentiments involved in it.

In reply to a question on David Headley’s revelations about the role of Pak intelligence agency ISI in Mumbai attacks will be raised with Pakistan, the Minister said, it will certainly be taken up during the talks. Mr. Krishna said that India has already asked Pakistan for the extradition of Daowd Ibrahim, who is wanted for various crimes in India and New Delhi will keep pursuing for its demand. He said, the main purpose of the talks is to reduce the trust deficit and to pave the way for normalisation of relations between the two countries.
