The sleuths of the National Investigation Agency, NIA is conducting simultaneous searches in fourteen locations in four districts in Tamil Nadu since this morning. It comes as a sequel to the recent arrest of sixteen people involved in the formation of the terror outfit Ansarulla.

The accused were given the NIA custody for eight days by a Chennai Special Court yesterday.
The officials of the apex anti-terror agency carried out searches in Ramanadhapuram in five houses related to some of those arrested in the case this morning. The necessary logistical support has been provided by the local police. The raids went on for four hours.

In Chennai, the NIA searched the residence of another accused in the case at Mannadi near Parry’s Corner. The accused is one of those who were brought from the United Arab Emirates and arrested by the NIA.

At Melappalayam in Tirunelveli, the houses of two people closely related to another UAE deportee has been raided. The local police provided a security ring for the NIA sleuths while carrying out the raid.

Another team of the NIA conducted raids in two locations in Madurai, at the residences of the relatives of yet another accused in the Ansarulla case.
