Swarms of locust have reached Gurgaon and Dwarka Expressway in Delhi today. Several areas in Gurgaon and Dwarka Expressway saw swarms of locust covering the skies. Earlier, in May, Delhi government has issued advisory in view of the probable locust attack in the national capital.

In the advisory, the city government has asked concerned authorities to spray insecticides and pesticides on standing crops, vegetation, plants, gardens and orchards to prevent a attack of locusts.

It has asked the authorities to organise awareness programmes for public and farmers to prevent the attack of swarm of locusts in the the city. It said, as the swarm of locusts flies in daytime, and rests during the night, it should not be allowed to rest at night.
