Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that the Unity Government between his party and President’s party will continue.

Making a statement in Parliament yesterday, Prime Minister said the government will continue as per the motion passed in Parliament and there is no need to quit it.

General Secretary of the partner alliance and minister Mahinda Amaraweera also stressed that the two sides have not withdrawn from the national government. The comments came as there were tensions between both sides over parting ways after both suffered defeat at hands of Joint opposition led by former President Mahinda Rajapakse.
