The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the schedule for postal voting in the upcoming General Election. Postal voting will take place on the 30th of October and on the 1st and 4th of November at all District Secretariats and election offices.

For those unable to vote on these dates, an alternative voting window is available on November 7 and 8, according to the Election Commission.

The postal voter list will be finalised by 16th October, with the lists being issued and delivered to the postal service by 23rd of October. Official ballot papers will be dispatched to post offices thereafter.

Approximately 6 lakh 90 thousand government employees had exercised their franchise in the recently held presidential elections. The general elections are scheduled to be held on the 14th of November to elect 225 Parliamentarians.
