The Squash world cup championship will begin in Chennai from the 13th to the 17th of this month. India will participate along with Hongkong, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Australia, and Colombia in the tournament. The last edition of the World Cup was played in Chennai in 2011.

There will be a round-robin pool stage followed by a knockout stage. Saurav Ghosal, Abhay Singh, Joshna Chinappa and Tanvi Khanna will represent India in the tournament. The Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu in coordination with the World Squash Federation and the Indian Squash and Triathlon Academy have made elaborate arrangements for the Tournament to be held at Express Mall, Chennai.

The players are preparing themselves in full swing to participate in the tournament. Indian Player Joshna Chinappa, the first Indian to win the British Junior Squash Championship and currently the record holder of most national championships with 18 titles said that Squash is a great sport and playing the game before thousands of people in the mall is a great experience.
