Sports-persons in Madhya Pradesh will get 5% reservation in government jobs.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Jitu Patwari announced the measure as a part of a new sports policy while inaugurating the state-level Olympic Games in Gwalior today.
Besides, Under 16 state-level Olympics will be started to nurture sports talent at the school level.
The Minister also announced that children from all CBSE, government and private schools would be involved in the Under 16 state-level Olympics.
At present, the competition is being organized for children above 16 years of age. He said it includes 10 sports — hockey, basketball, football, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, athletics, wrestling, badminton and table tennis.
