Aaj Tak journalist covering Vyapam scam diesMadhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that he was requesting to Special Investigation Team- SIT to probe the death of journalist Akshay Singh. Delhi based journalist Mr. Singh who was working with AAj Tak had suddenly died yesterday when he was interviewing family of a slain Professional Examination Board scam victim in Jhabua. Mr. Shivraj Singh talking to media in Bhopal today said that he will request the SIT to probe all the aspects of the death of Mr. Singh.

Chief Minister said that the state government has full sympathy with the family of decease scribe. He said that the probe of the Professional Examination Board scam is being directly monitored by the state high court and it is up to the court to look into the alleged mysterious deaths of several accused and witnesses of the scam. Mr. Singh said that he has full faith in the judicial system.

More than  30 people linked to the multi layered Professional Examination Board have died so far in different circumstances. Namrata Damore, whose name was linked with the scam, was found dead on railway tracks in 2012 in Ujjain.

Aam Aadmi Party today demanded thorough investigation into the VYAPAM Scam and all the deaths relating to the case. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet that guilty must be punished and more deaths must be prevented.

Party leader Manish Sisodia said there must be an independent probe into the journalist’s death by an SIT under Supreme Court’s monitoring.
