Met department has predicted heavy rain in most parts of Uttarakhand during the 24 hours beginning this evening. Authorities have been asked to remain alert to prevent any loss of life or property in case of heavy downpour.
State chief secretary N Ravishankar has asked all district magistrates to keep a vigil and take precautionary measures in view of possible heavy rains, especially in Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Pithoragarh and hill areas of Dehradun districts. District Magistrates have also been directed take all precautionary measures to ensure full safety of pilgrims along the Chardham yatra routes and take immediate decisions depending upon prevailing circumstances. The Met Department has forecast heavy rains in some places in the districts of Chamoli, Uttarakashi, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Bageshwar, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Champawat and UdhamsinghNagar in the next 24 hours.
