Congress today suggested that senior leader Narayan Rane’s resignation from the party could be linked to BJP’s accusation that the leader has connections with the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Talking to media here, AICC media in charge Randeep Surjewala said, ‘only yesterday, a member of BJP’s Central working committee had made an allegation of Rane having connection with Dawood Ibrahim. No statement has been made by Mr Rane or his associates in this regard.

It is intriguing how one day BJP levels allegations against Mr Rane, and the next day he resigns. He demanded that BJP national President Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh should place in public domain whatever evidence they have about any leader having connection with Dawood Ibrahim.
