TIA NEWS
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today told the Supreme Court that he will face trial in the RSS defamation case. Withdrawing his appeal, Mr Gandhi, through his lawyer Kapil Sibal, told the court that he stands by his statement made in an election rally against RSS for the killing of Mahatma Gandhi.
The court rejected the Congress Vice President’s request to be exempted from appearing in person in the lower court handling the case.
Mr Gandhi had, earlier, told the court that he did not blame the RSS but people associated with it and his comments were misinterpreted by the RSS activist from Maharashtra who has filed the case against him.
