Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today introduced the Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015 in the special session of the state legislature. Two amendment Bills also have been introduced today in the state assembly.
State Revenue Minister Thoudam Debendra introduced the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh amendment) Bill, 2015 while State Labour and Employment Minister Irengbam Hemochandra introduced the Manipur Shops and Establishments (Second amendment) Bill, 2015.
All the three Government Bills will be deliberated in the House and will be passed on August 31, the last day of the special session.
The special session was summoned by Speaker Thokchom Lokeshwar on the recommendation of the state cabinet with the main agenda of introducing and passing the Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015 and amend the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act and the Manipur Shops and Establishments Act to protect indigenous people of the state.
