Visits PM Gati Shakti Kendra at Bharat Mandapam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lauded the adoption of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan across sectors, which is adding speed to fulfil the vision of a Viksit Bharat. In a surprise visit to PM Gati Shakti Anubhuti Kendra at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on the third anniversary of the launch of PM Gati Shakti he appreciated the strides made in planning and execution of projects across the country due to the impact of PM Gati Shakti.

The Anubhuti Kendra showcased the key features, achievements and milestones of PM Gati Shakti. Prime Minister Modi also visited the One District One Product, ODOP Anubhuti Kendra and appreciated the strides made by the ODOP initiative in helping in selection, branding and promotion of products of various districts across the nation.

Using the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, 156 Infrastructure Gaps relating to first and last-mile connectivity issues of major sectors of the economy, such as, Coal, Steel, Fertilizer, Ports, Food and Public Distribution have also been identified by concerned Ministries and Departments. The Ministry of Railways has planned over 400 railway projects in just a year and 27 thousand kilometer of railway lines. PM Gati Shakti is breaking the silos with collective vision and through it last mile connectivity gaps are being assessed to ensure seamless movement. PM GatiShakti is also helping in effectively planning the locations of Anganwadi Centres. More than 10 lakh Anganwadi Centres have been mapped on the National Master Plan.

PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan completes 3 years of transforming country’s Infrastructure landscape

PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for muti-modal connectivity is completing three years today. This master plan was launched in 2021 to provide multimodal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones. PM GatiShakti has integrated 44 Central Ministries and 36 States and Union Territories for planning and executing infrastructure projects. It has achieved a milestone of assessing 208 big-ticket infrastructure projects worth over 15 lakh crore rupees of various ministries. The National Logistics Policy under this scheme aims to reduce logistics costs, improve India’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) ranking to be among the top 25 countries by 2030, and promote data-driven decision-making. The government is also considering providing access to non-government users for the data relevant to the planning of the infrastructure and developmental activities.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that PM GatiShakti has brought a paradigm shift in how India plans and implements infrastructure projects. He said, that by integrating data from multiple Ministries and States, the government has created a more efficient, transparent, and outcome-driven system. The Minister said the impact of PM GatiShakti is visible in faster project execution, lower logistics costs, and better services reaching every corner of the country.
