As soon as the Lok sabha met for the day, the BJP-led opposition demanded suspension of the question hour to discuss Anna Hazare’s protest against corruption. Amidst the din, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the government is prepared for a discussion on the issue and pleaded that the question hour be allowed. However, as the din continued, the Speaker, Mrs Meira Kumar adjourned the house for half an hour. When the House resume opposition continued thier hangama on the issue.

In the Rajya Sabha, the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Arun Jaitley raised Anna Hazare’s detention and said, it is a serious issue facing the country. He charged the government with throttling the supporters of Anna Hazare outside Parliament. But, some of the treasury bench members tried to troop into the well of the House demanding that the House take up the Question Hour. As noisy scenes continued, the Chairman, Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House for one hour.When the House resume opposition continued thier hangama on the issue hence the upper house was also adjourned for the day.
