Cold wave conditions continue to prevail over most parts of north India and some places of eastern part of the country. Cold conditions also prevail at isolated places of Bihar and Jharkhand. Temperature further dipped in Jammu and Kashmir with Leh region recording the season’s lowest at minus 16.2 degrees Celsius Friday. Srinagar recorded a low of minus 5.2 degrees Celsius.

In Rajasthan, mercury plummeted in parts of the state where Churu remained the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 0.4 degree Celsius, near freezing point.

Intense cold wave swept Punjab and Haryana with Amritsar recording the lowest temperature of minus 0.3 degrees Celsius in the region, four notches below normal. Reeling under severe cold conditions, Amritsar recorded mercury at minus 0.3 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.

Intense cold wave conditions continue in the hills and valleys of Himachal Pradesh. Local Met office has predicted rains or snow in mid and higher hills today and dry weather in the state from tomorrow onwards. In Delhi, Met office has predicted overcast conditions for today. It said shallow to moderate fog would occur in several parts of the city.
