Prime Minister Narendra Modi today alleged that farmers are being misled by spreading rumours that when they will deposit old currency notes of 500 and 1000 rupees, government will recover tax from them.

In his inaugural speech at the International Conference and Exhibition on Sugarcane Value Chain – Vision 2025 Sugar in Manjari near Pune he said that this Nation belongs to Farmers and assured that there will be no tax on their agricultural income.

Prime minister again appealed the people to cooperate for 50 days and assured that dream of corruption free India will come in to existence in forthcoming years.

Without naming Pakistan Prime Minister said some countries are printing Fake Currency Notes of our Country more than their own Currency Notes.

This Fake Currency is being used by Terrorists for proxy war against India. He said that to stop this it was essential to take some hard decisions and we have taken it on 8th November.

Prime Minister said that it was not possible to take precautionary measures before taking the decision about currency notes as secrecy was must.

This International Conference and Exhibition on Sugarcane is organised by Vasantdada Sugar institute.

While inaugurating this conference Prime Minister further said that Sugarcane growers should think of inter cropping and take crop of Pulses in between two lines of Sugarcane. He said that emphasis should be given on micro irrigation. Mr. Modi said that we should encourage Start Ups in agriculture sector.

He said that by increasing production of Ethanol we can reduce our dependence on oil we procure from gulf. He also appealed farmers to think of Bamboo farming as there is global market for it.

Mr. Modi also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing various technological developments in sugar industry and live demonstrations of sugarcane crop showing various advance technologies and practices in cultivation.

VSI is an autonomous body established in 1975 by cane growers of co-operative sugar mills in Maharashtra with support of State and Central government.

Organisers said it is a matter of pride for VSI that the conference is coinciding with the birth centenary year of Late Vasantdada Patil Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and founder of the institute.

Maharashtra Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister for Human Resources Development Prakash Jawadekar, Former Union Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who is also the President of VSI, were present for this inaugural ceremony.
