Home Minister Rajnath Singh today denied any lapse on the part of intelligence agencies of the Haryana Government or the Centre on Jat agitation last month.
Replying to supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha, he said, Haryana government was kept posted with the available intelligence inputs, prior and during the agitation. He said, the Centre had also advised the state government to keep the security on maximum alert and take all precautionary measures to prevent any law and order situation.
The Home Minister said, initially the state government was confident that talks with community leaders would yield results and Jats would not resort to violence. He said, a committee, headed by former DGP, has been set up to inquire into any lapses. He asked the opposition to wait for the report before coming to any judgement.
