Violence on eve of Eid in Kashmir is major news in several papers today. The Hindustan Times reports “Eid takes violent turn in Kashmir, civilian killed”. The Indian Express adds “Police say youth died as grenade he was carrying exploded in hand”. On the comments made by the father of Aurangzeb, the Indian soldier who was killed by militants in Kashmir, the DNA writes “Wipe out son’s killers in 32 hours, martyr’s father requests Army”.

The support extended by four Opposition Chief Ministers to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in his stand-off with Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor is prominently noticed in the press. The Hindu notes, “In a swipe at the BJP and the Congress, Naidu, Kumaraswamy, Pinarayi Vijayan and Mamata visit his family after being denied permission to visit him at Raj Nivas”.
