Defence Minster, Manohar Parrikar visits the INS Sindhukesari (EKM Submarine) in harbour for a first-hand experience of an operational submarine, in Mumbai on April 06

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said new Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP) will take some more time. Talking to media persons in New Delhi, Mr Parrikar said the first change he wants to bring in the procurement process is to treat vendors as partners. The minister said, that atmosphere of suspicion has to go at least for those vendors who have performed well earlier.

Mr Parrikar also expressed concern over American arms sale to Pakistan. The US has given military hardware, including F-16 fighter planes to Pakistan.
