Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly acknowledged for the first time that Israel carried out mass pager detonation attacks in Lebanon, along with the operation that led to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s death, according to Media sources in Israel. The operation, which occurred in September, caused thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies to detonate simultaneously targeting Hezbollah operatives.

According to the Lebanese health ministry, the attacks resulted in 37 deaths, including children, and left approximately 3,000 people injured, many of them civilians. The pager operation and the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah were carried out despite the opposition of senior officials in the defense establishment and those responsible for them in the political echelon,’ Netanyahu was quoted as saying, while apparently criticizing recently dismissed defense minister Yoav Gallant.
