In a joint operation by the Indian Navy and the Narcotics Control Bureau, approximately 2500 kg of Methamphetamine was seized from a sea going vessel off Kerala coast.
The seizure, part of Operation Samudragupt, is worth over 15,000 crore rupees.
The seizure is said to be the largest of its kind by an Indian agency in terms of monetary value.
Addressing media persons in Kochi this evening, the Deputy Director General (Operations), NCB, Sanjay Kumar Singh said a suspected Pakistani national has been detained in this connection.
The consignment is believed to have originated from the Death Crescent region, comprising Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
