They see it is a positive step in the direction of justice. “Though it is a belated move, yet it should be welcome by all those who were trying for justice for last 19 years”,  said a senior member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB).

AIMPLB had expressed its reservations against the Allahabad high court’s order passed May last year which upheld dropping of proceedings against 21 key accused including Advani in Babri demolition case.

The issue was taken up in three successive meetings of the AIMPLB’s working committee since then and has generated much heat. “Therefore decision by the prime investigative agency,” he said, “would put an end to speculations on the agency’s intent.”
Board had demanded CBI to go for an appeal in in apex court against the high court ruling. The Board had passed a resolution pressing for an urgent action against the HC ruling.
