All the four CPI MLAs have handed over their resignations to the Assembly Secretary while 11 TRS MLAs and both the BJP members also resigned.

17 MLCs of Congress and TDP have already resigned. In Delhi, 2 Lok sabha members of Telugu Desam Party and Telangana Ratsra Samithi each resigned Tuesday.

While TDP members submitted their resignation papers to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, TRS MPs sent in their papers through fax. Nine Congress Members from Lok Sabha and One member from Rajya Sabha had resigned yesterday.

A peculiar political situation has emerged in Andhra Pradesh with most of the legislators from Telangana region across party lines submitting their resignations for memberships.

Most of the ministers from the region also have resigned to their seats but not as ministers. Taking a queue from the main parties Congress and TDP, members of TRS, CPI and BJP also tendered their resignations.

Though the ruling congress leadership is holding parleys at national and regional levels to convince their members to withdraw their resignations, the other parties including Telugu Desam, TRS, CPI and BJP have adopted wait and watch policy.

The final decision on these single line resignations may take some more time as both the presiding officers of Assembly and Council are not available in Hyderabad at present.

Meanwhile, barring minor incidents, the two day bandh called by political JAC has been peaceful so far. However, the public transport in the Telangana region has almost come to a stand still. The commuters had to face severe hardships as the state Road Transport Corporation has suspended thousands of bus services across the region While local trains in Hyderabad have also been partially suspended.

Educational institutions have declared holidays for two days while some universities postponed scheduled examinations. Business entities, shops and Petrol pumps remained closed across the region. The agitators held demonstrations at the houses of the elected members who have not resigned so far.
