CM Arvind Kejriwal seeks PM’s intervention

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet Lt Governor Najeeb Jung tomorrow in the wake of gangrape of two minor girls on Friday in the national capital.

He has also sought a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the incidents.

Saying that Delhi police is under Centre, he asked Prime Minister to personally intervene in the matter.
He said his government has the funds to take over the control of police and provide security.

Delhi Government on its side is not going to remain silent. Whatever we can do will do and in this case, government will approach court also.

We are ready to give protection to the people of Delhi. Give Delhi police to us we will set the things right.

Mr. Kejriwal said he is ready to cooperate with the Lt. Governor as all stakeholders have to work together to prevent such incidents in future.

Meanwhile, three persons have been arrested in one of yesterday’s incident, and they have been remanded for 14-day judicial custody by a Delhi court.

Talking to media, the Delhi Chief Minister lashed out at Delhi Police saying it had completely failed to provide safety to the citizens.

He said Delhi Police has a huge responsibility for creating an environment of security in the city.

Mr.Kejriwal said repeated rape incidents of minors are shameful and worrying.

He also visited the two minor girls who were raped in the national capital yesterday.

He met both the victims and was accompanied by Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain. Both girls are said to be in a critical condition.
