Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acknowledged the role played by Khelo India in encouraging sporting talent. Replying to a tweet by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur on the completion of five years of Khelo India initiative, Mr. Modi said, the initiative is giving a great platform to athletes to shine.
The Prime Minister said, his government will continue to create the ideal environment for sports to thrive in India. The Khelo India programme was introduced to revive the sports culture in India at grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in the country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
