As fever cases spiked in Kerala, the State government has called for caution. With the beginning of monsoon season, several cases of dengue, and rat fever are being reported across the State. A few patients also succumbed to the disease. The State Health Minister Veena George said, the situation is under control and there is no need to panic. All necessary precautionary measures are being undertaken including opening of special Fever clinics in all districts.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sounded an alert against dengue and rat fever. He has also called for a cleaning drive in the State.
