UNION Health and Family Welfare Minister Harsh Vardhan has said that the country will have a vaccine against the deadly coronavirus by the end of the year.

He told reporters that one of the three Covid-19 vaccine candidates has entered the third phase of the pre-clinical human trial.

Head of national task force on Covid-19, Dr VK Paul said, the vaccine candidate entering the third phase has yielded encouraging results in the initial phases of its trial.

Dr Paul said that the other two vaccines are currently in Phase-I or II of their pre-clinical trials.

Dr Harsh Vardhan inaugurated a 10-bedded make-shift Hospital at NDRF base in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh yesterday.

The hospital has been set up by NDRF in collaboration with CSIR constituent laboratory CSIR-CBRI, Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee.

The makeshift hospital is designed for the patient to provide a primary health facility with safety, security and a comfortable living environment.

This fully Air Conditioned pre-fabricated makeshift hospital is equipped with various modern facilities like Paramonitors, Defibrillators and ECG Machines.

The Hospital is planned to serve the purpose for the disaster stage including for use in long pandemic or emergency situations.
