Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, India is committed to work with newly elected President of South Korea Moon Jae-In for further enhancement of bilateral relationship.

Mr. Dongchea Chung, the Special Envoy of Mr. Moon Jae-In called on the Prime Minister in New Delhi. During the meeting, Mr Modi said, he looks forward to an early opportunity to meet President Moon.

He welcomed the deepening of bilateral partnership not only in trade and economic spheres, but also in new areas like defence cooperation. Mr. Modi also recalled his visit to the Republic of Korea in 2015, during which, bilateral relationship was upgraded to Special Strategic Partnership, and said that South Korea is an important development partner for India.
