The country today registered the highest single day recoveries of 82 thousand 961 Covid patients. Health Ministry said, the recovery rate of COVID-19 has further improved to 78.53 per cent.

The total number of recoveries has reached over 39 lakh 42 thousand. Maharashtra alone has contributed about 23.41 per cent of the total new recoveries today. While Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu contributed to 35.5 per cent of the new recoveries in the last 24 hours. 27 States and Union Territories are reporting recovery rate more than 70 per cent.
 
The gap between recovered and active cases has crossed 29 lakh today. The recovered cases are nearly four times the number of active cases. The Ministry said, the constant increase in recoveries ensured that the actual caseload of the country is reduced and currently comprises only 19.84 per cent of the total positive cases. As on date, there are over nine lakh 95 thousand active cases in the country.
 
In the last 24 hours, more than 90 thousand new cases have been reported in the country. With more than 20 thousand new cases in the last 24 hours, Maharashtra is leading the tally. The Ministry said, effective implementation of Test, Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.63 per cent.
