Heat wave claimed 429 more lives in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana yesterday. With this, death toll due to sun stroke in the two states this season has gone up to 1,774. A large number of people succumbed to heat wave conditions despite considerable dip in the maximum temperatures in the two states yesterday.
In Telangana, 100 deaths were reported during the last 24 hours, taking toll in the state to 440. In Andhra Pradesh, 329 deaths were reported yesterday. With this, the death toll in the state due to heat stroke this season has gone up to 1,334. Andhra Pradesh government has already announced an ex-gratia of one lakh rupees to the next kin of those died due to heat-stroke in the state.
Meanwhile, Met officials have issued a fresh warning of heat wave conditions today for Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts in Andhra Pradesh and almost the entire state of Telangana. News Content
