Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today stressed the need to provide quality education to the students in the areas of research and innovation.
Chairing the high-level meeting to review the progress of the public and private institutions, which were considered to be given the status of Institutions of Eminence, Minister said that all the institutions were the foundation stones in making a new and better India.
He said, these institutions must lead the new generation towards excellence and they must work hard to improve their position in global rankings. The Minister also reviewed the status of infrastructure and human resource in these institutions and assured to extend maximum support by the government.
During the meeting, various decisions have been taken to empower these institutions and to help them to become world-class teaching and research institutions. One Project Monitoring Unit to be established to monitor the progress of these institutions.
These institutions may adapt and develop model villages as part of the Unnat Bharat Scheme for sustainable development in rural India. Institutions will be able to invite Nobel laureates, academicians, professors, foreign faculties to visit these institutions.
