The government today asked the Congress to come forward for a discussion on AgustaWestland deal in Parliament. Talking to media outside Parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will make a detailed statement about the deal on Wednesday. Mr Naidu said, Parliament is for debates and discussions on all issues concerning the people of the country and not to protest.

The Minister said, the government is more than willing to put facts related to AgustaWestland before the two Houses and, if the opposition does not cooperate, then it is clear that they want to divert the attention from the issue.

Denying any politics in the matter, Mr Naidu said, the case will only progress after the facts come out clearly and therefore Congress must not make hue and cry.

On the other hand, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged that Congress is unnecessarily politicizing the issue instead of discussing it.
