Sushma GeetaGeeta, a hearing and speech impaired Indian woman who accidentally crossed over to Pakistan more than a decade ago, arrived this morning at Delhi airport on Pakistan International Airlines flight.
In a tweet, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, Ms Geeta was accompanied by the members of Edhi Foundation.

Before boarding the flight to the Indian capital, Ms Geeta thanked the Pakistani people for hosting and taking care of her throughout the years. The Edhi foundation will continue to stay in touch with her through social media and even visit her.

Geeta, now 23, was reportedly just 7 or 8 years old when she was found sitting alone on the Samjhauta Express by Pakistani Rangers 15 years ago at the Lahore railway station. Geeta has identified her family through a photograph sent to her by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The family reportedly is from Bihar.

She will be handed over to her parents only after DNA test. The External Affairs Ministry had said, if DNA does not matches, she will be accommodated at either of two identified institutions in Delhi and Indore.
