Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani today appealed both locals and non-local students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) to remain friendly and restore peace in the campus. Geelani asked local students in NIT to welcome the students coming from outside to Valley to show them the hospitality of Kashmiris.
Geelani said that BJP-RSS were jointly responsible for such kind of scuffles between students outside or in the state. ‘‘It is RSS-BJP which created such kind of incidents either in Kashmir Valley or outside the state,’’ Geelani told media persons.
Appealing both locals and non-local students of NIT to remain friendly, Geelani said that students from Kashmir Valley studying outside the state are also not secure.

BJP condemns use of police force in J&K against NIT students
BJP today condemned the use of police force in Jammu and Kashmir against the students of NIT Srinagar. Party Secretary Shrikant Sharma termed the action as unfortunate and demanded action against the guilty policemen. He also demanded a secure environment for the students in the campus.
Mr. Sharma rejected Congress and Aam Aadmi Party criticism over the issue saying those who insult mother India and goddess Durga have no moral right to speak about it. Reportedly, local and outstation students had clashed inside the campus during India- West Indies match in the World T20 Cup last week
