Uttarakhand Nainital High Court today adjourned the hearing on the petition on imposition of the President Rule in the state till tomorrow, challenged by former Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
Hearing was heard by the double bench of Chief justice KM Joseph and Justice VK Bisht. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared on behalf of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat while Additional Solicitor General , Tushar Mehta represented the union Government. After hearing both sides the court ordered the applicants to bring detailed reports of assembly Budget session proceedings in English version.
The court stated that a final decision will be taken on receipt of their report. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand BJP MLA Bhimlal Arya has been issued show cause notice under anti defection law by the speaker of the State Assembly. The notice was served on him on the basis of a petition filed by BJP seeking action against him for violating the party whip in the house during the budget session.
