Former Union Minister and close aid of RJD leader Lalu Parsad, Raghunath Jha passed away in New Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on late Sunday night.
He was 78. He was a member of several political parties throughout his carrier, including Socialist Party, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Samajwadi Party. He represented the Bettiah constituency of Bihar and was a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.Jha was the Union minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise in the then Manmohan Singh government.
He was one of the three chief ministerial candidates in Bihar after the 1990 assembly polls.
The former minister’s body will reach Patna in today and the last rites will be performed at his village in Sheohar district.
RJD chief Prasad who is currently in jail expressed shock over death of his party colleague saying he would have paid his last respect to him had he been out on bail.
