The first commercial aircraft successfully landed today on the runway of Navi Mumbai International Airport. The IndiGo A320, which took off from Mumbai Airport, made a direct landing at Navi Mumbai International Airport. Following the successful landing, the aircraft was given an air salute.
The certification test also included a technical evaluation of landing and take-off manoeuvres. Senior officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Authority of India (AAI), and other key agencies, including senior officials from CIDCO, were present for the event.
In October, an army aircraft had successfully landed on the runway, while the Air Force’s Sukhoi 30 aircraft had flown a short distance from the runway.
