Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that extremist elements from across the border were involved in Manipur violence. He said, for many years, Meitei and Kuki communities have been living together. How did the violence erupt all of a sudden, Bhagwat said, while addressing the annual RSS Dussehra rally in Nagpur today.

Dr. Bhagwat appreciated the work done by RSS Swayamsevaks (cadres) in violence-affected Manipur amidst adverse conditions.

The RSS Chief said, the government has done everything to restore the peace in Manipur. Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself stayed there for 3 days, Dr Bhagwat said.

Talking about India’s achievement at the Asian Games, RSS Chief said, our country is moving forward in all aspects. He mentions India’s growth in terms of the economy, digital technology, startup space among others.

Noted singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan was present as the chief guest on this occasion. Shankar Mahadevan hailed the contribution of the RSStowards the nation, its culture, traditions and preservation of the ideology of ‘Akhand Bharat’. He also urged people to contribute to the nation-building through remarkable work in their respective fields.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were also present on the occasion.
