In Ladakh, Drass recorded the coldest night of the season as temperature dipped to minus 29 Degree Celsius, Kargil’s Temperature too dipped to -21.1 Degree Celsius and in Leh, it was minus 18.3.
This freezing temperature is raising various problems as the water supply pipes in various areas get blocked due to water freezing and other day to problems. Meanwhile the UT Administration along with the Project VIJAYAK of Border Roads Organizatiin is trying hard to keep the NH1D connecting Ladakh with Kashmir Open for traffic and still trying to open it as it get blocked due to snow blizzard yesterday.
People in Kargil are happy on the commencement of Zojjila Tunnel construction work and thanking the Governent with a hope to have a regular commercial Air Service which recently the MP Ladakh has raised with the Spicejet Company.
