Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said, demonetization of high value currency notes will curb corruption and funding to terrorism. In a statement, Mr Singh thanked people for supporting the move despite facing inconvenience. He said, the initiative will bring probity in political and administrative work and described the decision as historic, bold and in the national interest.

Mr Singh said, Government is taking every step to ease hardships being faced by people and the situation will normalise soon.

The Minister added that the decision will bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

Union Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad said, demonetisation is showing results and more than 4 lakh crore rupees came to banks and all is clean money.

He said, extremists are finding their financial backbone completely broken and the country’s economy is surging and security getting strengthened.
