Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has urged residents to strictly adhere to all Corona-related regulations. Addressing the media, Mr Jain urged the people to wear masks and practice social distancing in public places for their own safety. He stated that there is no need to panic about Corona because prevention is better than cure. He also urged people to take both doses of the corona vaccine.

He added that Delhi is rapidly recording Covid cases, with the omicron variant being the primary cause of the increase. However, data shows that the omicron variant is less dangerous than the delta variant. He said, there will be no lockdown in the national capital for the time being and some restrictions have been imposed in the interest of public health. Delhi has taken the most stringent steps in the country to stop Corona, such as weekend curfew, shutting down colleges and schools. He said, in Delhi’s hospitals, there are plenty of beds available and the occupancy rate is only 2 to 5 per cent.
