Delhi Government has decided to provide free ration to Public Distribution System -PDS cardholders till November 2020. Delhi government said that, distribution of food grains for July is scheduled to start in a phased manner from tomorrow onwards.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with the Food and Civil Supply Minister Imran Hussain decided that to mitigate the economic hardship caused by the COVID19 pandemic, the government will continue to provide food grains free of cost to the National Food Security (NFS) beneficiaries in Delhi. Now it will be providing PDS ration to NFS beneficiaries for the next 5 months including from July to November, free of cost.

In Delhi, under public distribution system covered by the National Food Security Act, more than 17.54 lakh households get ration.
