Arrangements have been strengthened to deal with the heat wave conditions: Delhi CEO

Over one crore 52 lakh voters will decide the electoral fate of the candidates in Delhi in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections for which polling is scheduled on 25th of this month.

Addressing media about the preparedness of the Lok Sabha polls, Delhi Chief Electoral Officer P Krishnamurthy said that of the total voters, there are over 82 lakh male and around 70 lakh female voters.

He informed that there is an increase of 8.52 lakh voters in comparison to the last election in 2019. He added, this time there are over 2 lakh 52 thousand first time voters and over 97 thousand senior citizens aged over 85 years.

Speaking about poll arrangements, Mr Krishnamurthy said that a total of 13 thousand 637 polling stations spread over 2 thousand 627 locations in the national capital will be set up for polling. This includes around two thousand 800 sensitive polling stations and webcasting will be done in 50 per cent of the polling stations and in all the sensitive polling stations.

He added that there will be 70 pink booths and 70 model polling stations.He further informed that over one lakh personnel and one lakh Delhi police personnels and home guards will be deployed during the election. 46 companies of CAPFs will also be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of peaceful polling.
