Situation in flood affected areas of Saurashtra in Gujarat, is fast improving. Apart from distributing relief materials to the affected people, district authorities are also focusing on medical help and cleanliness drives. A team of Gujarat state Congress is visiting flood affected areas of Saurashtra to take stoke of the situation. Meanwhile, the death toll due to heavy rainfall and flood-like situation in the state has gone up to 70. Maximum deaths reported from worst affected Amreli district, while five deaths each have been reported from Bharuch, Jamnagar, Kutch and Rajkot districts.
The Gujarat government has announced Rs 4 lakh each as compensation to families of each deceased. In addition, state Government has also decided to give cash doles for the next ten days to people in affected areas. Government has also announced to provide financial aid to those who lost their property and livestock. Earlier state Chief Minister Anandiben Patel carried out an aerial survey of flood affected Amreli and Gondal in Saurashtra yesterday- and assured all necessary helps to the affected areas.
